Changes in the nomination process

OpenOffice.org project is changing the process of child workspaces nomination to be more open. Starting from tomorrow, all project leads and members of release team will be able to nominate child workspaces. The process is described in the minutes of release status meeting from yesterday.

We hope this will bring even faster development cycle.

1 issue left for 2.1

The current status of OpenOffice.org 2.1 as of now is:
  • 1 issue is still open (#i62229# - Cannot acccess any resources via AFP, Mac OS X specific). It will be included in CWS afplock soon. Patch is already tested heavily.
  • five child workspaces waiting for OOE680_m5: gtkquickstart3, impress113, pb18, ppbfix and tl34
  • OOE680_m5 will be started at the end of this week and it will probably be considered to be RC1 of OpenOffice.org 2.1 (to be confirmed)
Please test OOE680_m4 and report any issues. Mark potential show stoppers accordingly.

Wonderful weekend in thermal spa Pieč»any

... several days without computers, networks, Internet, mobile phone, stress, work :-) You can imagine how I feel now.

The weather was very good and we enjoyed Pieč»any's thermal spa water and also the city. I especially enjoyed hot mud packs ;-)

Location: Balnea Esplanade, Pieč»any, SK.

38 issues for 2.1

... we made very good progress from last week (from 120 issues down to 38). But this is still not enough. We still have 2 critical issues - #i67261# (AutoCorrect gets triggerd only by Space, punctuation marks) and #i71436# (Writing aids disabled by default) and several issues marked as P3, but regressions. Other issues are P3 or lower except for Mac OS X issues which are being worked on.

Many of these issues are related to localizations (French - 4, German - 3, Italian - 2, Korean - 5)... You can track the progress in issue #i71255#.

Update (13:24 UTC): 32 issues right now (2 tracking issues, 18 localization/translation issues, 12 other issues).

Moon

Moon Inspired by Radek's picture of the moon, I decided to take my own. Not that easy... Nikon D50, cheap zoom lens 55-200 from the double kit, small tripod (which I only use with my compact otherwise ;-), MF, 1/400.

I really have to buy better telephoto lenses and better tripod...

ftp.linux.cz has new HTTP look!

The server I use for distributing my builds, ftp.linux.cz, is hosted by Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University.

Few days ago, its web interface was reworked a bit - have a look!

Had a lot of fun today...

... freenode had several network splits during the day, freenode's DNS lost for some time, OpenOffice.org website down for some time, x86_64 build of OOE680_m1 failed because of #i71111#, Windows build of SRC680_m191 failed because of #i71113#.

Time to go out and take some pictures of beautiful nature ;-)

Development milestone split

As of yesterday, we have the first milestone on the new release branch - OOE680_m1. This release branch is dedicated to OpenOffice.org 2.1. The development for the next version is being done on SRC680 branch where the latest milestone right now is SRC680_m191.

This means that start from now on, I'll provide builds and also POT files for both branches. Translators should work on OOE680 POT files. Only brave translators should update to SRC680_m191 POT files ;-)

OOE680_m1 is not the release candidate for 2.1...

I'll update this blog entry with other answers as they will come as always ;-)
