Updating to SUSE Linux 9.3
I have upgraded my primary system to SUSE Linux 9.3. This time it was harder than ever ;-) I decided
to change my desktop environment to GNOME. And I'm impressed. During last ~10 years, I created many
habits that I simply have to customize the environment to fit them to be as effective as before. And
GNOME helped me a lot (although there still are pieces that are sub-optimal).
The worst nightmare of the upgrade was to get my Emacs installation ready for all the work I do in
it... But this is a long story (in short: Emacs' bytecomp miscompiled one
.el file
from
bbdb).
